Thee J.Crew sample sale[1] opens tomorrow at two locations: 260 Fifth Avenue for women's, kids, and Madewell; and 225 Fifth Avenue for men's. We'll be reporting on both, but first up is the larger of the two: women's and kids.

This sale is always a favorite for some and pain for others—prices at J.Crew's 30% off final sale promotions can be just as good, if not better, than the sample sale prices, since the discount here is just 60% off. That being said, there's a ton of merchandise to choose from. After the jump, see the full rundown of prices, sizing, selection, and more.

The majority of the merchandise is $150 or less. For women, sizes range from a 0-16 with a lot of pieces that are 2 through 6. There's a designated area for Madewell, but we happened to find other pieces from that brand scattered throughout the sale. All items are individually priced, except for jewelry, which has it's own price list.

In the outerwear section there are a few leather and fur pieces, including a grey shearling for $500, a black fur zip up for $400, and a leather-shearling combo vest for $450. In the wool outerwear area, most of the items are $150, and there are motorcycle jackets, peacoats and overcoats. $75 gets you blazers and dinner jackets.

Jean jackets, camo safari styles, and lightweight zip ups are $60. The dresses were still being priced when we were there, but they range from $60 all the way up to $300. There are summery cotton dresses, long sleeve wool numbers, and plenty of cocktail dresses. Sweaters are going for $35, sequin and silk tops are $40, skirts are $40 and embroidered pants are $75. There is also some sleepwear for $20.

In shoes, sizes range from 5.5 to 12. We saw sandals, espadrilles, and flats for $65. There's a slew of heels and ankle boots for $100 and some mid-calf and tall leather boots for $130.

There's an area devoted to jewelry, which has pony hair and enamel bangles for $15, simple and ornate rings for $20, and some great necklaces going for $35 and $60. Near the jewelry you'll also find the leather bags, such as colorful small purses and totes for $90 and leopard print pony hair bags and larger pebbled totes for $130.

Near the Madewell area there's a row of accessory bins that has phone cases, belts, hats, gloves, scarves and smaller bags for all under $45.

The kids section has stuff for girls and boys in sizes 2 through 14, with majority of it being 4/5. There's outerwear, including fur vests and shearling shirt jackets, for $50. Sparkly dresses and dressy blazers are also $50. Sweaters are $30 with knits, pants, shorts and skirts going for $15.

There are a few mirrors in the back but no fitting rooms, and we're told there will be restocking. The sale runs from 10am to 8pm Tuesday through Thursday, from 10am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday. Stay tuned for a full report from inside the men's sale.—Mickey Sery
