As one of Ireland's busiest matchmakers, Rena Maycock often has to dash from desk to dancefloor. But when whether you're playing Cupid or looking for love this party season, she believes it's important to look your best.
"Between Christmas Day and New Year's Day is our busiest time of year," says Rena, who runs Intro Matchmaking (www.intro.ie). "People are lonely, and they don't want to be alone next Christmas.
"A lot of our clients are going on dates directly after work so it's important to make a good impression.
"If I'm going on a big night out, I bring my whole make-up bag, a change of top and shoes with me to work. But the less I have to haul into the office the better!"
Here the experts transform Rena's look from day to night -- and reveal how you can go from desk to dancefloor in 15 minutes flat.
TRESSED TO IMPRESS - 5 MINUTES
Hairstylist Raina Moore says: "You can transform your hair in minutes this festive season using just four items: a hair bobbin, hairpins, comb and hairspray.
"If you're hitting the town after work, start by washing and drying your hair the night before.
"Simply run the curling wand through it in the morning and leave it down for the day. Don't use any hairspray as it can cause the curl to drop.
"Something as simple as changing the parting can take your do from day to night.
"For the evening, I switched Rena's hair from a centre parting to a side one before sectioning and plaiting the front.
"Then you just backcomb the rest and loosely twirl it up and pin it into place, wrapping the plait around it. Finally, spritz with a little hairspray for a look that's easy, on-trend and stays in place as you dance the night away!"

FESTIVE FOUNDATIONS - 5 MINUTES
Make-up artist Deborah Leonard says: "If you want your make-up to last all day, it's important to get the base right. Prep and prime the skin before applying a good mineral foundation in the morning.
"Contour the eye with a light brown shadow, lightly fill your brows and apply one layer of mascara. Avoid dark lipstick that can bleed into the skin during the day.
"There's no need to start again for the evening. Simply freshen up your foundation using a big [kabuki] brush to buff it right into the skin.
"Darken the eye contour with a brown or black pencil and use an old, clean mascara wand to brush through the dry stuff before applying fresh mascara.
"I also used a champagne-coloured shimmer to the highlight Rena's eyelids and cheeks.
"Finally, line the lips with red lip liner and fill with red lipstick -- et voilà, you're ready to go!

FASHIONABLE IN A FLASH - 5 MINUTES
Stylist Nicole Spain of Flutterby Fashion Styling (www.flutteronby.ie): "Wearing a leather skirt to the office might sound a bit risque, but worn with a crisp white shirt, blazer and black tights, it's perfectly professional.
"Apart from changing your entire outfit, accessories such as a statement necklace are the easiest way to jazz up your look for a post-work event," she says.
"But the best thing you can have in your bag is a pair of heels which add sex appeal in seconds.
"Either wear the heels you plan to wear out to work or keep them under your desk.
"You can get away with wearing a bigger bag out now as they're in fashion.
"Black tights on a night out are a big no-no -- I don't care how cold it is!"
