We all know that the weekend following Thanksgiving can get pretty crazy, but in Berkshire County, Massachusetts thieves targeted a local outlet mall, stealing around $500,000 worth of merchandise from a Michael Kors outlet store. According to The Berkshire Eagle, the thieves took an estimated half a million dollars worth of leather goods[1] including a large amount of leather handbags, purses and wallets.

MassLive reported Police in Lee Massachusetts saying that three masked men broke into the Michael Kors[2] store at Premium Outlets between 4:30 am and 6 am Saturday, November 23. Police say that the thieves disabled the store alarm and entered by breaking off the store’s lock and from there, forced their way into the store.

It was the manager of the Michael Kors[3] store who discovered the break-in and theft around 8:30 am when he arrived. He then called the local police and reported what had happened. Both the store manager and police have reviewed the security footage and where pleased to see that the robbery was all caught on tape.

Three masked men can be seen on the security footage breaking into the Michael Kors[4] store and quickly began placing a large amount of leather handbags, purses and wallets into garbage bags. The Berkshire Eagle, continues on to say that from there, the men can be seen gathering an assortment of watches and placing them into backpacks before finally leaving through the back door of the store.

Police believe that this isn’t an isolated incident. According to MassLive, officials think there may a connection with similar break-ins at other outlet stores around the Northeast region. So far during this investigation, police have found that three masked men have broken into other outlet stores in Maine, Connecticut, New York, and Maryland.
