A 91-year-old woman was robbed in broad daylight while shopping in Bridlington.
Humberside Police are now appealing for witnesses after the woman had her purse stolen whilst shopping inside Discount Fashion Wear, on Promenade, Bridlington between 11.34am and 11.44am on Friday November 8.
A woman approached the 91-year-old and allegedly stole her purse from her shopping bag whilst she was distracted looking at items.
The stolen item is described as a black leather purse with 3 or 4 compartments containing the victim’s bus pass; address book and a small amount of money.
The suspect is described as a white woman, aged in her late 20s or 30s and between 5ft 6ins and 6ft tall with a thin build.
Se was wearing black trousers and a black top, and a distinctive cream or beige bobble hat with an animal picture on it with two bobbles on either side as the ears.
Following enquiries it is believed that the offender had been following the victim and waiting for an opportune time to steal her purse and other shoppers are being urged to keep purses hidden and handbags secure.
