Fall harvest feast


VIRGINIA Natural Bridge Indian Village-Fall Harvest Feast is Nov. 26-Dec. 1 at Natural Bridge. Monacan Indians cook up a fall harvest feast. Interpreters in period-appropriate dress cook turkey, trout, corn on the cob, corn bread, and mixed berries on raised grates over an open fire, in clay and metal pots, on hot stones, to demonstrate how Monacans did it in the 18th century. While watching, learn about hunting, fishing, agriculture, and how thanks was expressed in Monacan culture.
