The Ins and Outs of the Aloha Rag Sample Sale - Racked NY

The Aloha Rag sample sale starts today at noon, boasting a discount of up to 80% off brands like 3.1 Phillip Lim, Balmain, Carven, Comme des Garçons, the in-house label, and more. Prices range from $30 to $2,500, but not too much is under $100. As usual, the sale is mostly merchandise from the in-house label—this time around, it seemed to be roughly 70% Aloha Rag, and 30% other designers.

Half of the merchandise is past season, and the other half is current. Men's and women's clothing get an equal share of goods here, and there are plenty of sizes. The best discounts are on the sample racks, where we found stylized sweats for $78, knitted shorts for $136, pants for $62, and leather caps for $50.

We saw women's Philip Lim silk tops for $192.50, Carven skirts for $215, Lucien Pellat-Finet dresses for $434, and Herve Leger dresses for $537.50. For the Aloha Rag label, there are silk tops for $165, leopard print pants for $224, and coats for $462.50.

In the shoe section, there are Ancient Greek sandals for $132, Philip Lim flats for $315, and Pierre Hardy snakeskin boots for $675. Shoes sizes looked to be 37 through 40, and there are no bags for the ladies.

For the guys, there are Acne Studios tees for $69.30, Jil Sander and Band of Outsiders sweaters for $276.75, and Philip Lim pullovers for $315. For the Aloha Rag label, there are button ups for $86.25, blazers for $169.75, heavy duty trench coats for $320 and leather shackets (that's a cross between a shirt and jacket) for $700.

Men's shoes include leather Converse collabs for $40.25, Rag and Bone boots for $270, Common Projects sneakers for $280, and Pierre Hardy graphic hi-tops for $486. Guys shoes sizes are between 41 and 45, and there are a few bags going for $240.
