ORANGE >> Police are looking for an armed robber who hit Bedding Barn Tuesday night and according to a store employee was well-dressed and apologetic, Assistant Police Chief Anthony Cuozzo said.


The robbery at the store, 131 Boston Post Road, was reported at 9 p.m., just before closing time.


A clerk told police the robber was 50 to 60-years-old, clean shaven, 6’ tall, thin and wearing a black suit with a white shirt and tie.


According to the clerk, the robber said, “I hate to do this to you but I’m going to… this is a hold up. ”The robber opened a brown leather bag and showed the clerk a black pistol and placed it back in the bag, Cuozzo said. The clerk turned over a small amount of cash and his personal laptop, police said.


The suspect left the store, fleeing in an unknown direction, Cuozzo said. A K-9 track led to the parking area behind the Sprint Store at 125 Boston Post Rd.
