Wednesday, Sept. 11
- Get a little trunk. Neiman Marcus hosts a handful of accessories trunk shows starting today, starting with David Webb[1] (Precious Jewels Salon, through Sept.13); Jamie Wolf[2] (Designer Jewelry, Sept. 13); and Barton Perreira[3] Sunglass (accessories department, Sept. 13). While you’re there, take advantage of the Cosmetics floor’s newly launched “Beauty Event” through Sept. 22, when a $125 cosmetics or fragrance buy garners a gift-bag full of cosmetics-floor goodies. Need more? Get a leather Rebecca Minkoff cosmetics bag with a $500 purchase.

- Find something that suits you. Online menswear forum Styleforum.net hosts a meetup with Chicago-based custom suit company Proper Suit[4] , whose suits start at $750 using fit specialists, quality European fabrics and full-canvas construction. At the 6 p.m. event, the folks from Proper Suit, which is generally appointment-only, will be discussing menswear industry trends and unveiling new fabrics, followed by a “no-host” dinner near the Firehouse 8 location (1648 Pacific Ave.).
- Mingle with Beauty Junkies. Bloomingdale’s[5] hosts “The Makeup Date” hosted by Harvey Helms[6] , author of “Blush: The Unbelievably Absurd Diary of a Gay Beauty Junkie.” The $25 ticket gets you a range of beautiful delights, starting at 4:30 p.m.: a beauty trend show presentation with speakers from Dior, NARS, Benefit and more; $25 back in the beauty purchase of your choice (and a travel bag filled with samples!); light bites and more, all until 10 p.m. RSVP at 415-856-5365.
- Make it personal. Neiman Marcus hosts personal appearances from ReVive[7] founder Gregory Brown and Maison Francis Kurkdijan[8] co-founder and president Marc Chaya on the cosmetics floor from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments at 415-362-3900 (ext. 2123 for ReVive, ext. 2103 for Maison Francis Kurkdijan).
