The following are excerpts from the Martinez Police Department log. Times listed indicate when incidents were reported to police.
Dec. 28
Ryan Schrum was arrested at 12:19 a.m. on an HS 11550 (Under the Influence of Controlled Substance), during a traffic stop at Center Avenue and Banner Court.
Cody Dillon was arrested at 2:09 a.m. on HS 11364 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) charges during a pedestrian stop at Glacier Drive and Hemingway Commons.
A red performance mountain bike was taken from a side yard on Costanza Drive, reported at 8:45 a.m. Reporting party (RP) believes it occurred Dec. 25, 2013. Approximate value of bike reported at $300.
At 1:26 pm. at Amtrak on Marina Vista, a black male adult wearing sunglasses, a black hoodie and black pants was purportedly being “rude and threw a napkin” at the RP. Abated.
At 1:33 p.m., it was reported a lady left ID on the train. Log note only.
An older white male adult in a silver Lincoln Towncar came in to get a haircut at Perfect Cuts on Pine Street. It was reported there was an open beer bottle in the vehicle. Gone on arrival; reported at 2:07 p.m.
A petty theft was reported at 3:48 p.m. on Ward Street. A female “took off in the vehicle without paying, owes $179.” RP followed subject eastbound to Highway 4. Log note only.
A white truck and grey Toyota were reported at 4:08 p.m., speeding and driving towards downtown Martinez. “Almost hit RP’s vehicle.” Gone on arrival.
Petty theft was reported at 5:16 p.m. at Walmart on Arnold Drive. Jillian Beasley was arrested, cited and released.
Petty theft was reported on Palisade Drive. A checkbook and ATM card were missing. Reported at 6:07 p.m.
Another petty theft occurred at Safeway on Alhambra Avenue at 7:20 p.m. A white female, 40s, wearing a black leather jacket and black pants, and a white male adult with brown hair, black jacket and khakis were near the front check stands paying for some merchandise, with two other bags full of items in the cart. Rachel Moxley and John Wilson were arrested.
A petty theft was reported at Rite Aid on Arnold Drive at 8:43 p.m. A white male adult, bald, wearing a black hooded puffy jacket and jeans “took something from the store and ran.” Subject was inside liquor store, with white female adult parked in the McDonald’s parking lot in a silver Honda Civic. Casey Rose was arrested.
At 10:05 p.m. on Church Street, RP said someone rang his doorbell. He heard a male voice say water is running down the street. Checks OK.
Promiscuous shooting was reported on Buckley Street at 10:06 p.m. Loud bangs were heard, and RP saw a flash. Gone on arrival.
Two white females with baggy clothing were reported to have been in the bathroom for 45 minutes at the McDonalds on Arnold Drive around 10:59 p.m. Abated.
An accident occurred on F Street in Martinez at 11:35 p.m. A vehicle drove into a front yard; no one was injured.
At 11:45 p.m. a vehicle was purportedly spinning donuts on the field at Morello Park Elementary School. Vehicle description was not known. RP could not see because it was dark. Gone on arrival.
Dec. 29
At 4:55 a.m. on Smith Drive, RP made an attempt to contact a subject that had left Contra Costa Regional Medical Center with an IV still in arm. Checks OK.
On Highway 4 near Pine Street, RP’s vehicle was hit by another vehicle, 5:17 a.m. “Suspect took off.” No injuries reported. Suspect vehicle is black in color. RP’s vehicle is a white Subaru Impreza. Transferred to California Highway Patrol.
Police recovered a stolen vehicle at 8:10 a.m. at Morello Heights Drive and Morello Heights Circle. Richard Jobe was arrested on a felony warrant.
A missing adult was reported at 10:06 a.m. on Fig Tree Lane. Last seen “20 minutes ago.” Hispanic male adult, 5’8”, 170 lbs., blue jeans, black hoodie with neon yellow in the hood. Assisted.
A suspicious person was reported at 10:44 a.m. near Haven and Pine Streets. Two white females were seen “pushing a cart with packages and carrying a blue bag, going on porches.” Advised.
Ronald Phillips was reported at Hospice of the East Bay on Morello Avenue at 11:34 a.m., “yelling in the parking lot with a cart.” Phillips was arrested on 602 PC and BP 22435.2B charges.
A wallet was reported lost at Walgreens on Alhambra Avenue, reported at 12:22 p.m.
A box full of car keys were found on a porch on Morello Heights Circle, reported at 12:47 p.m. Checks OK.
At 4:34 p.m., at IHop on Arnold Drive, the boyfriend of an employee told RP if he talked to the employee in the same manner again, he would kill RP. Advice to citizen.
At 5:23 p.m., on Highway 4 near Morello Avenue, a white Ford Mustang turned on Arnold after speeding and cutting off driver. Log note only.
A noise disturbance was reported on Robinson Street at 8:52 p.m. A group of three teens were “hanging out in the carport area being loud.” Abated.
RP’s daughter was “being followed by a blue Buick Sedan” at approximate 9:16 p.m. RP said they threw something at the car, possibly a bottle. Occurred on freeway. Abated.
At 11:17 p.m. on Rolling Hill Way, RP said a “recorded sound of a barking dog” was coming from a house. Unknown if sound is recorded or a real dog, “unknown why neighbor would do this.” No action taken.
Dec. 30
At 2:09 a.m. at the Valero gas station on Alhambra Avenue, Harris Devin Langston was arrested on a 1036M X’s 4 (confidential info, possible misdemeanor warrants).
Train blocking was reported at 5:42 a.m. at Embarcadero and Berrellesa St. The train was “stopped for over 10 minutes.” Log note only.
At 8:53 a.m. at Tower Mart on Howe Road, an unknown subject trespassed on property and set a fire on the side of a building, causing damage. Report taken.
At 9:40 a.m. on Heatherleaf Lane, RP ordered perfume online and believes it to be fake. RP contacted company, who said they’ll take it back with a 20 percent restocking fee. Civil problem.
At 11:40 a.m., a white male adult, 20s, was reported “pulling down his pants and exposing himself.” Abated.
At the Martinez Police Department Lobby, an RP requested to speak to an officer regarding two subjects trespassing in his back yard “last night.” Reported at 12:17 p.m.
At 1 p.m. on Kingston Court, unknown suspect threw eggs at RP’s vehicle. Log note only.
At 1:24 p.m. on John Muir Road, 3-4 kids on longboards were traveling at a high rate of speed around blind curves. RP almost hit them. Advised.
A stop sign was on the sidewalk, possibly hit by a car, on Chilpancingo Park and Morello Avenue at 2:46 p.m.
A 70-year-old male went into cardiac arrest, reported at 10:11 p.m. on Rock Pass Place.
At 11:46 p.m. on Eagle Lake Court, RP heard two loud pops coming from inside home. Unknown if from park behind house or street in front of house. Unknown fireworks or gunshots. Checks OK.
Dec. 31
At 6:18 a.m. on Starbucks on Main Street, a white male adult, 60-70 years, navy baseball hat, black jacket, was “talking loud and causing a disturbance, sitting inside store refusing to leave.” Matthew Raymond Gotz was arrested for 647F and 602.
At 6:28 a.m. at the marina on Tarantino Drive, on the east side of the fishing pier, a black male adult with dreds, 40 years old, with dark red windbreaker, was smoking a glass pipe, threatening to “slap RP’s female friend.” Log note only.
Grand theft reported at John Muir Inn on Muir Station Road, 9:42 a.m. “Left a suitcase at the front desk, and when she returned it was gone.” Suitcase contained two laptops and a camera. Report taken.
At 10:55 a.m., a court order violation was reported. RP stated she was supposed to pick up her child on Monday per child custody paperwork, however, child’s father is refusing to meet with her to do the exchange. RP had dropped the child off at 7-11 on Morello Drive on Friday. Advise to citizen.
At 11:36 a.m., it was reported a Christmas tree was dropped in the middle of the road near Morello Avenue and Pacheco Boulevard. Abated.
At 12:46 p.m. on Warmcastle Court, RP had a water leak between two townhomes. Neighbor is refusing to allow the contractor inside to fix leak, therefore, RP has two feet of water inside her kitchen. Assisted.
At 3:08 p.m. on Blue Ridge Drive, RP called about a neighbor “who is taking photos of her through her front window.” Other neighbors have seen him. Assisted.
At 4:12 p.m. on Escondido Drive, three male juveniles of mixed races, 14-15 years old, were reported “shooting air soft rifles at birds, and one just hit above RP’s window.” Assisted.
Smoke was reported coming from a manhole cover at 6:24 p.m. at Brown and Ferry Streets. Handled by ConFire.
At 8:57 p.m. on Sunnybrae Drive, a vehicle window was smashed, and RP’s purse was taken. Suspect vehicle is black Mercedes S series, about nine years old. “Took off towards Alhambra.” Report taken.
On Pine Street at 10:09 p.m., RP said a small grey two-door vehicle followed RP home; RP afraid to get out of car. Vehicle occupied by a female driver and male passenger. “Took off outbound on Pacheco.” Gone on arrival.
Promiscuous shooting reported at 10:46 p.m. on Klamath Court. Two shots in past 45 minutes; RP insists they were not firecrackers. Area check, log note.
Fireworks were reported on Hidden Oaks Lane and Vine Hill Way, 11:24 p.m. “Someone lighting off M80s on corner; nothing seen, just heard.” Checks OK.
