The TV star looked pale and down in the dumps as she dragged her heels around the streets of Hampstead signalling that her marriage to toyboy Jack Cockings may be over for good.

Ditching the skimpy dresses, the mum-of-two donned a black leather jacket, leggings, roll-neck jumper and aviators to hide her tired face.

The 43-year-old looked fresh-faced without a scrap of make-up on, with only red nails and a sleek black leather bag to glam up her dowdy outfit.

It was revealed earlier this month that the TV presenter decided on a trial separation from husband Jack after she allegedly assaulted him.

According to The Sun^[2] , a source close to the Ultimo lingerie model claimed the 'age difference just become too much' between herself and the 28-year-old.

"It's not a case of Mel ending the marriage because Jack called the police. But what happened was obviously an indication that things aren't right," the source continued.

The yummy mummy spent the night in a police cell in November after a heated row with her young husband.

She was reportedly cautioned by the police after spending part of the evening in the cells.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called to a residential address in Hampstead following reports of an assault.

"A 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault. The victim, a man, did not require hospital treatment."

The couple got hitched after a whirlwind romance after meeting via Twitter^[3] .
