Police are appealing for information following the theft of a handbag in Wirksworth.
On Saturday, December 7 a women’s handbag was removed from the back of her chair in the library on Coldwell Street, Wirksworth.
The leather handbag contained bank cards, cash and a sentimental gold chain.
A witness saw a man acting suspiciously in the library at the time of the crime which took place between 11:30am and 12.
He was described as white, mid to late twenties and around 5’6” tall.
He had short dark hair and dark eyes, and was wearing a leather jacket and dark trousers.
