Heartless thieves stole a handbag and jewellery worth £2,000 from a disabled woman in an aggressive daylight robbery.
The 50-year-old woman was walking with two crutches along a footpath between the Snooty Fox public house and Lidl's supermarket in Hazlett Avenue East, Three Bridges, at 11am on Friday.
Two men walked towards her and an Asian man demanded that she hand over her black leather handbag.
He then demanded her jewellery but the woman refused, striking him with one of her crutches.
The second robber, a man of East European appearance, then wrenched the jewellery from her grasp knocking her to the ground.
The jewellery had great sentimental as well as financial value, having belonged to her mother and grandmother.
Two of the items, a ring and a bracelet, have a distinctive Welsh dragon designs.
One of the woman’s attackers is described of Asian appearance, aged between 18-25, of slight build with dark, collar-length unkempt hair.
The second attacker was white, of similar age, and was wearing a maroon red hoodie with the hood up, blue jeans and white trainers.
