Is Louis Vuitton facing a bit of a crisis? Not only has designer of 16-years Marc Jacobs resigned to focus on his own brand, but the label has now run into a leather shortage.

You know what that means? Less leather, fewer handbags.

Which appears to have come as mighty blow to Vuitton bosses, who recently announced that the French house will be upping it's leather handbag count (awkward), along with the accompanying price tags.

Hoping to recapture the exclusivity brands like Celine, Fendi and Givenchy currently enjoy, Louis Vuitton had planned to reduce the production of its iconic monogrammed canvas bags[4] , in favour of more luxe leather.

Talking to WWD this week though, LV revealed it was having a hard time sourcing enough high quality leather to execute the grand plan.

But the bright side?

We've all got a little bit longer to enjoy 'lower priced' Louis Vuitton handbags! Now let's start counting out that penny pot...
