Big deals on Small Business Saturday - Indianapolis Star

While you’re making plans for Black Friday, several local businesses are giving their stores a once-over in preparation for Small Business Saturday^[1] . A small-store alternative to the big-box madness, the Saturday event is one of the biggest day of sales for small businesses. The annual event, created by American Express, is in its fourth year.

American Express card holders who enroll at www.shopsmall.com^[2] before Nov. 30 will be eligible for $25 cash back when they spend $25 or more at registered businesses. From shops on Massachusetts Avenue to retailers in Carmel City Center and places in between, local businesses will offer deals galore Nov. 30. Here’s what you can expect to find:

Mass Ave. deals

Silver in the City^[3] , 434 Massachusetts Ave., and Mass Ave Toys^[4] , 409 Massachusetts Ave.: 10 percent off all day.

The Flying Cupcake^[5] , 715 Massachusetts Ave.: Free mini cupcakes all day and gift card giveaway.

Crimson Tate^[6] , 845 Massachusetts Ave.: Free samples hourly and demonstrations of easy one-hour projects.

Indy Reads Books^[7] , 911 Massachusetts Ave.: Free back-sacks with every purchase more than $10 while supplies last.

Broad Ripple deals

Girly Chic Boutique^[8] , 922 E. Westfield Blvd: Buy one, get one half-off. In addition that offer on Nov. 30,the boutique has a “buy more, save more” deal on Black Friday. Get 10 percent off your first item, 20 percent off the second, or keep buying and get up to 50 percent off.

Utterly Pink,^[9] 839 E. Westfield Blvd.: Lined leggings are on sale for $12. Also, spend $50 and take $10 off your purchase and 20 percent off all jewelry, except handmade items.

Jack & Jill Children’s Shoppe, 727 Hanover Place: All inventory is 60 percent off with the exclusion of Wheat clothing brand (sold in the Zionsville store only), which will be 40 percent off.

The Bike Line, 724 S. Rangeline Road: All kids bikes will be on sale; and save $10 on a youth helmet with the purchase of any kids bike.

Bath Junkie, 741 Hanover Place: Get $10 off any lotion and salt scrub combination, or take $10 off any lotion and coffee scrub combination.

J. Benzal, 711 Veterans Way: Take 40 percent off all suits, or buy one suit and get one free. Also, all other items in the store will be 30 percent off.

Silver Door Boutique Spa, 762 S. Rangeline Road: Purchase one gift certificate and receive one for half-off.

Authentic Sports Collectibles, 715 Hanover Place: Get a signed 16-by-20-inch poster of Bob Knight for $99, or take 20 percent off your purchase.

Cloth, 31 W. City Center Drive: Take 30 percent off your purchase.

A Formal Affair, 736 Hanover Place: Take 20 percent off your purchase.

Brides of Carmel, 731 Hanover Place: Take 50 to 70 percent off select bridal gowns.

Rain Aveda Salon & Spa, 41 W. City Center Drive: Take half off of a haircut with any color service and $20 off an hour massage and facial.
