Friends and family will host a benefit on Dec. 1 to help Erin Jacobson in her fight against breast cancer. Erin, 32, was diagnosed in September with an aggressive type of breast cancer. She is in the process of a four month long chemotherapy treatment. Following treatment she will have surgery and then radiation every day for six weeks.
Erin grew up in Moorhead and McVille, N.D. After graduation from high school in McVille, she moved back to Fargo and has lived and worked here the past 14 years. She is continuing to work while undergoing treatment.
The benefit is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be held at The Kelly Inn, 3800 Main Ave., Fargo. There will be a silent auction as well as a live auction conducted by Jesse James of 98.7.
Among the auction items are: a Matt Cullen autographed hockey stick and hockey glove; lasik surgery (one eye) by Dr. Steve Bagan; furniture by Steve Revland of the Uptown Gallery; a Willi Nilli leather handbag by Suzanne Williams; an orthodontic package from Dr. Brenda Barfield of Friendly Smiles; pendent and earrings from Royal Jewelers; Susan Boyd acrylic painting; copper sculpture by Patrick Shannon; and many more exciting items.
Lend A Hand, a program of Dakota Medical Foundation, is providing up to $5,000 of matching funds; and Thrivent Financial of North Dakota is also providing matching funds up to $1000.
