As the whistle blew to signify halftime of Saturday’s match at Toyota Stadium between Seattle Sounders FC and FC Dallas, FCD captain David Ferreira and Jackson were front and center as a confrontation between the two Dallas regulars was on full display for the world to see.[1]
Jackson didn’t play the second half as FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman decided to sit him in lieu of Blas Perez. And Hyndman addressed the confrontation after the game, talking about how unacceptable it was.
Well, the outgoing gaffer discussed that incident yet again after training on Monday morning in Frisco and here’s what he had to say.
“It’s still going to be in the discussion. I don’t think the matter’s closed. I think it’s something that I would imagine the league would even look at. You win your last game at home and this is a bigger media attention than the victory. But the point is, we work so hard to do the right things on the field and sometimes we have little hiccups like this. But it’s embarrassing to our staff. It’s embarrassing to me. It’s embarrassing to everyone who works at FC Dalllas because that’s not the image we want to have,” Hyndman said. “So, I think there’s still going to be some process in that but I can’t give you any details.”
Neither Ferreira nor Jackson were not made available to the media after practice and it will be interesting to see if either of them speaks to reporters at some point during the week.
