PATERSON, NJ - A teenage girl walking home after school on Tuesday was robbed at gunpoint.

According to Paterson police, the 17-year-old victim was walking in the 1000 block of East 24th Street just before 4 p.m. when a short Hispanic male wearing a dark colored hoodie (either blue or black) approached her, put a gun up to her head and demanded, "Give me your phone."

The victim complied, surrendered her cell phone, and, after the suspect ran away, she ran to her home in the neighborhood to report the incident to a family member.

It was the second late-afternoon robbery in as many days in the neighborhood south of downtown and just north of I-80. On Monday at 4:30 p.m., a woman was the victim of a strong-arm robbery just five blocks to the west of Tuesday's incident, at the corner of 21st Avenue and Madison Street.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
