MULBERRY, Osprey, Cath Kidston, Russell & Bromley – bag ladies will be in their element at this year’s Autism Wessex Helping Handbag Charity Auction.

The event, backed by the Daily Echo, takes place at 1812 Lounge Bar in Bournemouth on October 17 from 7.30pm and members of the community are being asked to support the auction by donating their gently used or pre-loved handbags to be sold.

This year the charity has a unique opportunity for someone to design their own personalised version of a designer handbag, working with up and coming accessories designer Harriet Sanders.

Paul Reade, community and events fundraiser, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this special, glamorous occasion once again this year and have the support of a number of ‘must-have’ brands, including Mulberry, who have donated the ever popular ‘Oversized Alexa Bag’ (worth £995.00).

“As well as a unique opportunity to design your own handbag courtesy of Harriet Sanders, we also have Cath Kidson, Osprey and Russell & Bromley designer bags to sell on the night. Aspinal of London has also donated a stunning designer Barbarella purse wallet worth £150.”

Live music as well as pre-auction entertainment and stalls will also be part of the evening, with the live auction set to be the event highlight Tickets are now on sale and for the fourth consecutive year the price remains the same at £10 per ticket.

All donations from bags sold will go to the charity to help raise vital funds for the charity’s services.

To donate your pre loved bags please drop them into to one of the convenient collection points, which include Fab Frocks in Westbourne[3] , Doris and Daisy in Wimborne and Autism Wessex Christchurch office in Bargates. Some items can be collected on request.

Local businesses Williams Thompson Solicitors, LLP Basepoint Business Centre Bournemouth and Forelle Estates are also supporting the event.

Tickets are available from the website autismwessex.org.uk or from calling Paul Reade on this number 01202 703597.
