GOODRICH — A special fund-raising event designed to raise awareness about human trafficking is scheduled for this Saturday in Goodrich and will provide financial support to an organization involved in freeing the enslaved. Proceeds will go to The A21 Campaign (www.thea21campaign.org).
The Lakeview Community Church, at 10023 State Road, Goodrich, MI invites all women to come enjoy wonderful fellowship, a lovely lunch and tea, bid in a silent auction on new and gently used purses, hear a keynote speaker on the subject of trafficking, and listen to the songs of anti-trafficking artist Kelsey Rottiers & the Rising Tide.
Women should come prepared to learn about trafficking and to spend money on the silent auction. Also, they should keep in mind that the information, statistics and personal stories to be shared at this event, while not explicit, will be very frank and direct. Attendees should use caution and wisdom when inviting young girls under 18.
