Public drunkenness … Joseph Pavlovich, 60, of Tyson Avenue, Glenside, was cited for public drunkenness Nov. 8 after police observed him fall several times while walking in the area of Jenkintown Road and Roberts Avenue at 8:38 p.m., police said. After speaking with Pavlovich, authorities discovered he was intoxicated, police said.


Public drunkenness … Lisa Hillsman, 45, of Poplin Avenue, North Charleston, S.C., was cited for public drunkenness Nov. 14 after she was found to be intoxicated and unwanted at a property in the 2000 block of Hamilton Avenue at 4:43 p.m., police said.

Theft from vehicle … A resident of the 700 block of Meadowcreek Circle reported about $10 missing from his coat that was taken from his unlocked 2013 BMW SUV while it was parked in the driveway overnight Nov. 15, police said. The coat was found on the resident’s backyard the next day with the money missing, police said.


Vandalism … A resident of the 1500 block of Sloan Way, North Wales, reported the rear passenger side tire of her husband’s Honda CRV slashed while it was parked in common parking area along Sloan Way, police said. The resident said the incident must have occurred sometime over the past 4-5 weeks as her husband was away on a business trip, police said. He discovered the flat tire when he went to pick the car up after he got home from the trip, police said.


Cheltenham


Retail theft … Victoria Stevens, 23, of the 200 block of North Robinson Street, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft around 8 p.m. Nov. 12 after taking $425.43 in goods from Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, police said.


Retail theft … David Brown, 45, of the 1200 block of West Williams Street, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft Nov. 12 after concealing $670 worth of coats in plastic bags and attempting to leave Burlington Coat Factory, 2385 W. Cheltenham Ave., at 7:13 p.m., police said. Continued...[1]



Theft … Michael Brooker, 29, of the 6800 block of North 18th Street, Philadelphia, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property Nov. 13 after he allegedly stole a trash can from a property in the 1800 block of Erlen Road earlier in the day and was found at 1:23 p.m. with a bag of copper piping in a trash can in the 7800 block of Cedar Lane, police said. It was unknown where the piping came from, police said.

Attempted burglary … David C. Smith, 18, of the 5900 block of A Street, Philadelphia, and a 16-year-old male of the 1000 block of 65th Avenue, Philadelphia, were arrested Nov. 13 after allegedly attempting to break into a wood shop at a home in the 7800 block of Mill Road, Elkins Park, around 1:45 p.m., police said. The two were charged with attempted burglary, attempted theft, conspiracy, defiant trespass and institutional vandalism, police said. The two were seen on the property and were found in possession of a power drill, police said.


Flim Flam … A man and a woman scammed a resident out of $2,000 after telling the victim that for a $2,000 fee she could make $4,000, police said. The scam, reported Nov. 14, occurred when the victim was approached at the Cedarbrook Mall, where she met the couple, who drove her to her home to get the money, police said. The thieves were described as a black, heavyset female, about 40, with short black hair and a very heavyset black male around age 50, police said; they were last seen leaving the area in a dark blue Chrysler 300.


Retail theft … Sanequita Elliott, 20, of the 100 block of West Logan Street, Philadelphia; and Denisha Odom, 19, of the 1700 block of West Thompson Street, Philadelphia, were cited for retail theft Nov. 15 after taking $130.71 worth of goods from Target, 2450 Shoppers Lane, around 9:20 p.m., police said.

Charges pending … Charges of driving under the influence of controlled substances are pending against Nicholas P. Mancino, 19, of the 2300 block of Hoffnagle Street, Philadelphia, after authorities observed a white Jeep Cherokee with no inspection sticker, drifting on the roadway, police said. Police stopped the vehicle at Pine and Red Lion roads Nov. 11 at 1:08 p.m. and detected an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle, police said. Mancino failed field tests, police said. Authorities searched his vehicle and confiscated drug paraphernalia, including smoking pipes containing suspected marijuana residue, plastic bags containing marijuana residue, rolling papers and other items, police said. He was transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood tests, police said.


Vandalism … A resident in the 3500 block of Black Angus Drive reported Nov. 16 at 9:40 p.m. that unknown persons opened her screen door and threw eggs at her front door, police said.


Charges pending … Charges of risking a catastrophe, public drunkenness, theft and related charges are pending against Brian J. Kearns, 47, of the 900 block of Gartner Lane, Parkland, after cutting ground wire from the railroad tracks in the 300 block of Red Lion Road Nov. 17 at 8:08 p.m., police said. The portion of the wire cut was for a sensor that sends a signal to a train dispatch advising the time and location of the trains on the tracks; with this sensor damaged a catastrophic event could have occurred such as pedestrian being struck or a train collision, police said. Police searched Kearns backpack and found wire cutters and a bottle of vodka. He was also found to be in possession of a syringe, police said. Thomas J. Newman, 41, of 255 East Lincoln Highway, Penndel, who was with Kearns, was charged with risking a catastrophe, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and related charges, police said. He admitted to using heroin and drinking alcohol earlier in the evening, police said.


Upper Dublin


Hit-and-run … Yiye Wu, 24, of Philadelphia, was cited for accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle Nov. 18 after she struck a vehicle in the parking lot at 1300 Virginia Drive and moved her vehicle to another location without contacting the owner of the other vehicle, police said. Hit-and-run … Linda M. Bram, 54, of Mohnton, Pa., was cited for accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle after she struck a vehicle parked at Wawa, 106 Bethlehem Pike, around 1 p.m. Nov. 17 and then left the scene, police said.

Hit-and-run … A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Apel Avenue was struck in the front passenger side wheel quarter panel and headlight by a hit and run vehicle overnight Nov. 15, police said.


DUI … Steven A. Gearhart, 34, of North Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle accident at 2:28 a.m. Nov. 16 in the 1300 block of Bethlehem Pike, police said. Gearhart was northbound on Bethlehem when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a guard rail, police said. Gearhart showed signs of intoxication and was taken to the station, where the results of a chemical breath test was a 0.152 percent BAC, police said.


Vandalism … Two hunting stands in Mondauk Common Park were reported damaged at 10:27 a.m. Nov. 16, police said. The stands, allowed as part of the Upper Dublin deer management program, were in the area of Wynnemoor Way and Conquest Way, police said. One hunter reported leaving the woods at 9 a.m. Nov. 15 and the stands were fine and on Nov. 16, when he returned to hunt at 6 a.m. the support bar had been removed and all the ratchet straps were cut from his stand, creating a significant fall hazard, police said. The other stand, belonging to another hunter, had three ladder straps cut as well as the hoist line, police said.


Theft … A man driving a black Ford Explorer pumped $55.98 worth of gas from the Maple Glen Exxon, 450 N. Limekiln Pike, at 8:02 a.m. Nov. 14 and drove off without paying, police said. An employee at the station tried to stop the driver, but he pulled onto Norristown Road and made a right onto Limekiln at a high rate of speed, cutting off several vehicles, police said.


Theft … A large, yellow, fake leather purse containing makeup, a yellow leather wallet, $80, credit cards, insurance cards and a driver’s license was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 400 block of Bannockburn Avenue, Ambler, between Nov. 10 and 12, police said.


Vehicle stolen … A 2009 blue Ford Expedition, PA license DLZ5041, was reported stolen Nov. 13 from the 500 block of Morris Road, police said. During a search of the area a person of interest was located but when confronted by detectives took off on foot through a wooded area, police said. Police from neighboring departments and a K-9 unit assisted with the search, but it was unsuccessful, police said. As of Tuesday the vehicle had not been recovered, police said.


Vehicle entered … The window of a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Virginia Drive was found broken at 6:06 p.m. Nov. 13, police said.


Theft … A GPS was reported stolen at 11:08 a.m. Nov. 13 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Howe Lane, police said.
