It was a busy night for Strictly Come Dancing co-host Tess Daly last night.

After attending the Pride of Britain awards she and husband Vernon Kay headed to Nobu restaurant in Mayfair for a long-overdue date night.

With its slashed hint of cleavage and thigh-high split the sexy ensemble struck the right note for the awards ceremony and later an intimate romantic dinner.

Late night date night! Tess looked dazzling in her thigh-splitting black dress alongside dapper husband Vernon Kay ln his matching suit and tie

Tess accessorised with gold pointed heels which kept Tess' long legs looking their best on the job and at play afterwards.

Her hair was swept back dramatically over one shoulder creating an easy air of old school Hollywood glamour - little wonder Vernon couldn't stop proudly beaming across at his beautiful wife.

A subtle but shiny black leather handbag perfectly accentuated the outfit with Tess keeping the jewellery to a minimum and the make-up suitably fresh and glowing.

The double tour of duty for the hard-working Tess went a long way to putting to rest her yellow dress disaster worn with aplomb on Strictly Come Dancing two weeks ago.

By reverting to the fashion staple of the LBD last night out on the town Tess was back on safe ground, though the high-cut leg and slightly risque peekaboo cleavage cut gave the outfit some extra drama, if not wow factor.

Tess and Vernon's date night out came after a hectic weekend on Strictly Come Dancing where Tess had to co-host with Claudia Winkleman after Bruce Forsythe called in sick.

85-year-old Bruce, who was at home with the flu, last missed a programme due to illness in 2009. The BBC is promising his return to the show this coming weekend.

Claudia, who usually hosts the Sunday evening results show with Tess, has stood in for Bruce in the past. For the show she chose a bright green top featuring a torso-hugging, not to mention figure-flattering, large dark band around the middle to break-up the pastel brightness. Tess opted for a more sedate, but still sparkling not to mention sizzling, dark evening gown.

Tess has got it in the bag! Showing plenty of leg in her LBD, Tess worked her magic at Nobu in London's Mayfair last night

On the first elimination show of the series veteran golfer Tony Jacklin was the one to go in the viewers' vote combined with the judges' scores. Along with his dancing partner Aliona Vilani, Tony danced the Charleston to It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) but it wasn't good enough to save the show's oldest contestant.

At age 69 and only able to practice his fancy footwork for four hours a day, Tony took the elimination in his stride.

Strictly Come Dancing coincidentally moves into 'Love Week' for this coming weekend's shows. Judging by how cosy Tess and husband Vernon looked in London on Monday night love is definitely in the air.
