The name Gucci is synonymous with luxury fashion, high-end leather goods and timeless, elegant pieces. Starting Wednesday through Friday, the renowned Italian brand’s San Diego location in Fashion Valley will draw back the curtain between customers and the craftsmanship that goes into each product with the Handbag Artisan Corner, allowing the public to observe top artisans finish iconic Gucci handbags right in the store.
As shoppers pass through the Gucci quarters and possibly pick up a new purse, Gucci artisans will be on-hand to elaborate on the evolution of the handbags, from the design to sketch, into production and onto shelves. They’ll also be working on completing a variety of the classic bags, and limited-edition skins, colors and hand-embossed monogramming will be available as well. The whole range of tools will be set up for both use and display, including the custom work tables, a sewing machine, a leather stand and metal tools.
The New Bamboo bag in Jaguar Print pictured is currently available at the San Diego store, and the same style will be finished live during the Artisan Corner. It’s yours for $2,450. The artisans will also be assembling other signature designs from Gucci, including the Nee Jackie, Soft Stirrup and Soho.
