Twenty-year-old Anne Quinlan was spotted looking relaxed and perfectly bohemian with a mix of fall and summer pieces as she shopped at the recently opened Nordstrom Rack for accessories. She scanned through racks of clothes in a simple green dress with a bead-embellished neckline paired with a jean jacket, brown, peep-toe wedges and a fun leather backpack. She fills us in on her love of layering, dislike for matching and why that works for her as colder weather approaches.
How would you describe your style?
I don't really like to match a lot. I like a casual, comfy look. I love green and layers.
As you transition from summer to fall, what is your style mantra?
I still keep a lot of my summer stuff out, but layer them with big sweaters and jackets. Once it gets a little colder, I pair dresses with army boots and tights. I'm all about the layering.
What is the must-have on your fall fashion wish list?
I really want to get an over-the-shoulder, heavy bag in dark brown. Maybe with some studs on it or something.
What is your biggest style pet peeve?
I don't like over matching. When the top and the bottom are the same pattern, that just annoys me.
Who is your celebrity style crush?
Probably Rachel Bilson. She is so petite, but she can still pull off looking tough. She can look feminine, but also really edgy at the same time, and I like that.
