Just three months on from the birth of her son Hendrix, Natalie Bassingthwaighte has proved she’s still got time for glamour amid her hectic schedule as a mum of two and judging commitments on reality TV series The X Factor [1] .
Throwing open the doors to her wardrobe in WHO’s Glamour issue[2] , the mum on the run shares her style secrets and reveals the enduring rock ‘n’ roll edge to her sartorial soul. “My style has changed since I had children,” Bassingthwaighte reveals. “I like to be able to dress up some pretty casual pieces that I can transition from day to night.”
Yet her latest lust-have wardrobe addition is 100 per cent glamour—a pair of Balmain leather pants that were a gift from husband Cam McGlinchey to mark her 38th birthday. “They’re yet to arrive but I’m a bit excited — what a great husband!”
Citing Nicole Richie, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kate Moss has her celebrity style icons, Bassingthwaighte concedes that she too looks to the stars for style inspiration. “When you see celebs in a magazine with a great new bag or something it does give you ideas about how you can evolve your own style. Particularly when it comes to Nicole Richie—she always gets it right!”
