Lara Croft Would Totally Rock the Intrepid Bags - Chip Chick

Intrepid Bags are fine, hand-crafted genuine leather bags built equally for city and outdoors adventures, and are in the process of being Kickstarted. But, that’s not the only reason this Kickstarter project is a special one.

That’s because Chip Chick’s own Tiffani Buteau^[1] makes up one half of the team behind Intrepid Bags. Tiffani has written more than a few reviews and pieces about accessories, bags, and all things involving the great outdoors over the years – more than enough to give her insight into what makes bags wonderful and, more importantly, the little details that make bags less than wonderful. All of that knowledge and wisdom has been distilled into Intrepid Bags, two bags made for him and her that are as rugged as they are elegant.

The bag for men is called the Journeyman, designed to be a messenger bag worn across the body. Despite having only a 2.5” thick profile, the inside has a padded pocket for a 13” laptop, plus sleeves and compartments for a tablet and a smartphone. Plenty of other extras like sunglasses, notebooks, pens and pencils can also fit inside without making the bag look stuffed. And, best of all, the laptop sleeve is padded on both sides and suspended away from the edge of the bag, so your laptop won’t bang around against your back while you’re moving around.

The Lillium is designed for women, and looks more like a hip holster, although it can also be worn across the body like a messenger bag. That’s because the strap is styled as a belt, which can be worn inside or outside belt loops on pants. The Lillium can hold a 7” tablet inside a pouch lined with micro-suede padding, and has a separate zippered compartment for a smartphone, which is also lined with micro-suede. And, again, there’s tons more room for anything else you need to tote around with you, including a hidden area in the back for your passport and cash.

Both bags are made with vegetable tanned boot leathers prepared in the United States. In fact, no expense has been spared in the way of fine materials – Intrepid Bags feature UV-resistant nylon stitching and high-quality metals on the details and buckles, too. And, just to make sure everything’s come together right, Tiffani and Stephen have been testing the bags all over the world, from the centers of cities to the peaks of mountains.

There’s some more good news to report, too – as of now, the Kickstarter’s funding goal has been met. Right now, Intrepid Bags^[2] are scheduled to ship in December. You can still get one at a Kickstarter discount, if you chip in $109 for a Lillium bag or $297 for a Journeyman bag.
