A gang of girls with backcombed hair surrounded a woman and stole her handbag.
The six girls approached the 24-year-old woman as she walked along Hawthorn Avenue, west Hull, carrying several bags.

One of them, who was described as “plump” and was wearing leggings and a grey crop top, asked the woman what was in her bags.
The rest of the gang then surrounded the woman and began grabbing them.

They stole a brown leather handbag which contained several items of clothing.
It happened at 2.15pm on Friday. All of the girls are described as being between 18 and 20 years old and having “distinctive backcombed hairstyles”.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log 475.
